Roger Zelazny has (had) a dry wit that I always enjoyed. I've always heard a certain kind of voice when I read his work. He recorded a book on tape and to my delight he sounded exactly like i pictured him. Great stuff if you like Science Fiction, especially Lord of Light. You'd like the pantheon he chose for the story. Myself, I'm a Methodist Buddhist with Navajho and Druidic tendencies. And I live by my three definitions:
Faith - what guides your actions, your thoughts, and your values.
Religion - what you get when you codify faith and try to get others to go along.
Fanaticism - when you start hurting people for not following your religion.
I love talking about faith. I walk away when the religion starts.

One of the highlights of going to a literary festival is hearing authors read from their own works. What author, living or dead, would you most like to hear read?
